In a video made by Fraenkel Gallery in connection with his exhibition New Old Pictures/New New Pictures, Richard Misrach talks about working with images from his archive, which spans nearly 50 years. He describes coming across negatives he had originally overlooked, and notes, “One of the discoveries is that over time, the world changes and these old photographs can map that in ways that maybe other mediums can’t do quite as accurately.”
