A 2023 video from the Morgan Library and Museum takes a closer look at the contact sheets in Peter Hujar’s archives. Olivia McCall, the Morgan’s Edith Gowin Curatorial Fellow of Photography, talks about working with the contact sheets to understand more about Hujar’s creative process. The Morgan has been home to Hujar’s archives since 2013, when it acquired a collection that includes the artist’s papers, 100 photographic prints, and with more than 5,000 contact sheets, which span the artist’s career, from 1955 to 1987.
