Fraenkel Gallery is pleased to announce the publication of Elisheva Biernoff: Smashed Up House After the Storm, the third monograph dedicated to the artist’s work. Biernoff recreates found, anonymous photographs using paint and wood, making delicate, detailed works that uncover the hidden emotions in these abandoned objects. In recent pieces, larger, more complex arrangements incorporate multiple images and non-photographic sources, such as renderings of objects from nature or architecture. The book includes 12 paintings on wood and two watercolors, encompassing the artist’s output since mid-2021. Many of the works are printed at exact scale and, consistent with the previous publications, all paintings are reproduced recto and verso.
