Part of a series of books featuring unpublished work by leading photographers, Close at Hand presents a previously unknown aspect of Adams’ life and work—his woodworking. The book presents Adams’s photographs of small hand-made objects—dogs, birds, a book, a boat—pictured around the house. As Adams notes, “For over forty years I have been making things in the shop to amuse Kerstin and to remind us both of what sweetens life.”
