Kota Ezawa: Lightboxes

Ezawa began using lightboxes with his series The History of Photography Remix and has returned to the glowing format in more recent series, harnessing its impact to highlight the singular power of each image.

Kota Ezawa: Works on Paper

In series such as National Anthem, Ezawa’s meticulous process involves tracing source images onto paper and hand-painting them with watercolor before digitally combining the images back into a moving animation. His works on paper serve as delicate, tangible fragments of the related videos.
